Nevados de Chillan Ski resort, still referred to by many as Termas de Chillan, is the single largest ski resort in all of South America in terms of skiable area. It is located 400 km south of Santiago and then east 80km from the city of Chillan. It is situated on the slopes of Volcan Chillan, an active volcano with two cones, one named Chillan Viejo and the other, Chillan Nuevo where wafts of steam can be seen rolling off its summit.

The Portillo ski area is the oldest and most recognized ski resort in South America nestled in the high Andes of Chile along side the Argentina border.  It is conveniently located only 2 -1/2 hours from Santiago or 3 hours from the airport and has spectacular scenery and amazing history as you are transported back in time by its old world elegance.

The Valle Nevado ski resort is located just 30 km outside of Santiago, making it easily accessible for day trips from the thriving Chilean capital. Valle Nevado is a relatively new Chile ski resort opening in 1988. Therefore, Valle Nevado skiing boasts the most modern facilities including the only high speed detachable chair lift in Chile and would most resemble a North American resort compared to other Chilean Ski resorts.
